Hi there! 👋 I’m Sam, responsible for all things content-related here at Nomad Gate.
Living abroad has been a way of life for me since even the teenage years. I am originally from the UK but have lived in 6 different countries, including Portugal, the US, and the Czech Republic, and visited over 30 others. In recent years, I’ve made Estonia my home. Yes, it gets dark and cold in the winter, but it’s also the birthplace of Skype, e-Residency, the Digital Nomad Visa, and pizza delivery robots!
I have an educational background in International Relations. I have also worked as a communications specialist in the crypto and gaming industries and aiding a fintech and gaming venture capital firm with their social media and news coverage. From these experiences, I’ve gained an interest in investing both in crypto and stocks, and I have also grown to appreciate fintech. Particularly, how it has the potential to change banking to fit a more globalized world and thus help people become smarter about their personal finances.
As a writer at Nomad Gate, I hope the content will continue to inspire more people to consider a location-independent lifestyle and recognize that some excellent banking solutions cater to digital nomads and world citizens.
I also have several other interests in my free time, like learning languages, programming, cooking, and doing nature-loving Estonian things like mushroom picking and sauna. Needless to say, I also enjoy the perks of location-independent living and traveling around the world.
